CM88 - Neon Sunset
Wednesday 14th october, 2015
They Say: “The title-track from my second EP of the same name. ‘Neon Sunset’ is a very stripped back and simple track compared to the other tracks on the EP. The reason behind this is that I wanted to see if I could produce a track with less than ten elements, but still retain a luscious full sound. The main focus of the track is the prominent thriving bassline that is just utterly unrelenting throughout and makes this one of my heaviest tracks to date. I love a lot of movement within my music and ‘Neon Sunset’ is no exception, the weaving pads that float around the bassline combined with heavily panning arpeggiated lead coming back in near the end of the track creates a massive amount of movement. The end result is a very heavy, hypnotic and unrelenting track”.
We Say: Simplicity leads to hypnotism, if it’s done right. And CM88 has a knack for making the most of a loop, indulging us in trippy, spangly electro goodness. The whole EP, in fact, is warm and welcoming, for music so futuristic
