THE ATL IRISH ALBUMS OF THE YEAR...

The top four albums in particular faired very strongly, with Dubliner Conor O Brien's Villagers topping the list with 'Awayland', released back in January. And So I Watch You From Afar's album was the highest record by a northern act, while Phil Kieran's Le Carousel was the highest debut. Most remarkable of all is the fact an astonishing 41 records were voted for, proudly exposing both a quality and quantity of great music being created on this island.
But lets return to the spirit of this chart and what it's intended to achieve - highlight a mere selection of great records more than worthy of your attention. And we encourage you to tell us what your own personal chart is, perhaps turning us on to music we've not heard before in a neat exchange. Whatever you make of ‘album of the year’ lists, the most important thing is we're all listening to great Irish music, loud and proud.
