They say: “Influenced by the music of Asgeir's 'Heimforin' (in English Going Home), Radiohead's 'Pyramid Song' & Jonsi's 'Tornado' - Niall Dalton wrote the piano part and first guitar part. The polyrhythms and chord progressions particularly stood out in these tracks for him. The other band members added to the track over a series of rehearsals, before Michael McMacken wrote the lyrics and added the vocals. Described as an alternative atmospheric rock track, this is the first release by the band since the Bella Rose EP of late 2012. More tracks are nearing completion.”
We say: “Five minutes seems a little indulgent - but for a track so brooding, so huge and so beautifully sprawling, every second seems justified and necessary. An exhausting piece of music, in the best possible way.”
