Hot Cops - Decay

They Say: " 'Decay' is mainly inspired by the Surfer Rosa, Pixies era and The Blue Album by Weezer. It's an optimistic song about feelings of acceptance, emotional love and inevitability, but is somewhat shrouded in a sense of disassociation. I was trying to express the idea of feeling disconnected, but in a good way rather than because of anxiety."

We Say: "This double A-side is a real relief to us. Given that we’ve hyped them up a great deal in the last few months, it makes us look good to hear them getting better with every release. ‘Decay’ is armed with as close to an anthemic pop hook as Hot Cops are capable of, while ‘Six’ is another side to the young three piece - all dark and creepy. They’re coming along very nicely indeed."

Belfast three-piece Hot Cops released Decay/Six on 20th May. The band will be playing the follwing in the coming months:

24/05 - BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend Festival, Norwich

11/06 - The Bar With No Name, Belfast

24/07 - Knockanstockan Festival, Wicklow

01/08 - Sunflower Festival, Hillsborough
