Those Ghosts – Something I Said
Friday 17th June 2016
They say:
“Traditionally when writing we’d have some semblance of the music written and the vocal melody and lyrics would follow after. ‘Something I said’ was something different though in that the lyrics preceded any of the music and helped set the tone for the overall track.
The song itself is about someone standing up for themselves against slanderous folks, who in turn take offence to be challenged… ’Was it something I said?’
Given the nature of the lyrics we knew this would have to be fast, punchy and aggressive. After bringing the guitar riff to practice the track quickly started to take shape. After some fine-tuning and copious amounts of rehearsal we ended up with the finished product we’ve just recorded… and we’re pretty delighted with it!”
We say:
‘Rattling along at a frenetic pace, ‘Something I Said’ is an energetic, kinetic slab of guitar-driven indie rock. Confident vocal delivery, clever lyrical play and a big chorus hook ensure that it’ll stick in your head’.
Freshly released this Tuesday 14th June, ‘Something I Said’ is the brand new single from Strabane four-piece Those Ghosts.
