Gnarkats - Sorry

Wednesday 11th January, 2017

They say:
“’The track started as one of the first songs we wrote together and we played it for over a year as an instrumental. We finally decided that we should change some parts and add vocals. It's very much a favourite of ours and we love to play it live! And So I Watch You From Afar was a big influence on this one as we wanted an epic track on the EP! The James Stewart sample from "It's a Wonderful Life" was Stuart, our drummer's idea and we think it added a nice dynamic to the track!”

We say: “A seven minute opus, ‘Sorry’ epitomises the prog-tinged post-rock side of Gnarkats – the flipside of the coin to beer-soaked barnstormers like ‘Problems’.

This is no bad thing though, especially when the track is as engaging as this. Vast harmony-driven choruses intertwine with funk breakdowns, capped off with a joyous Jimmy Stewart sample.”

Belfast based Gnarkats are Caolan (Guitar and vocals), Jordan (Guitar), Stuart (Drums and vocals) and Louis (Bass). ‘Sorry’ is from the Waves Collide E.P which is out now.
