TOUTS - Marty
Monday 9th May, 2016
They Say: “'MARTY' was penned after a number of people around our town kept shouting the name randomly, and later there just so happened to be a lot of impressionable people and things with the same name. Parts of the song were also written about how some of today’s music industry is about money over music. Since then the track sort of took on a life of its own.”
We Say: “This needed to be good, really - given the strange amount of hype surrounding a brand new band. We’d been told about crazy scenes at their first couple of gigs and how they’d knocked it out of the park in the studio. But all we knew for sure was they [formerly known as The Blue Jeans] had a rubbish name. Then a double whammy - they became TOUTS (much better) and we got to hear ‘Marty' - an explosive, youthful and just straight up fun three minutes that, to understate it, really lived up to the hype.”
Marty' is the first single from Derry~Londonderry trio, TOUTS, available now along with B-side 'Stay'.
