R51 for Reading & Leeds
R51 have been confirmed for the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading & Leeds Festival. The Belfast 5-piece will play Leeds Festival on Friday 28th August at 1.55pm and Reading on Sunday 30th August at 2.20pm. The musicians on the line-up used the BBC Introducing Uploader to send music to their local BBC Introducing show and highlights from the BBC Introducing stage will be on-line following the weekend. Headliners for the stages are Clean Cut Kid, CHILDCARE and Georgia. Previous acts to have played the stages at Reading & Leeds have included Slaves & Catfish and the Bottlemen.
Hard Working Class Heroes Line-Up
The line-up for this year’s Hard Working Class Heroes has been announced. The showcase festival and conference for new music takes place across various venues in Dublin from 1st to 3rd October, 2015. Arborist, Hot Cops, Loris, Pleasure Beach, PØRTS, Silences, and The Soft Look are among 100 bands selected to play the event by a selection of Irish and international music professionals, via Breaking Tunes. As well as the music showcases there will be conferences, mentor sessions and band tips with day to day venue details to follow.
Salty Dog Stage at Electric Picnic Festival
The line-up for the Salty Dog Stage at this year’s Electric Picnic festival has been released with The Riptide Movement, Tucan, Gangs, The Mighty Stef - and recent ATL session guest - Oliver Cole among others, playing on the ‘shipwreck’ at the Co. Laois festival.
Serotonin Farewell Show
Serotonin are to play the band’s ‘final gig together’, before they split for university, on the roof of the Oh Yeah Centre, Belfast on Friday 14th August. The band played their first Oh Yeah gig 2 years ago, winning the Clash of the New Breed Competition. The farewell gig is being hosted by Volume Control - a youth mentoring programme to gain work experience in the music industry.
Belsonic Set to Start
The opening acts have been announced for Paloma Faith’s Belsonic performance on Thursday 20th August, with Tom Prior and Jake Isaac being added to the bill. The series of concerts in Belfast’s Custom House Square kick off on Saturday 15th August with Rudimental. Stereophonics, Above & beyond, Hozier, All Time Low and Bastille headline various nights at the event.
