This week Niamh Hegarty joins Rigsy and Stuart, to talk new music including:

Giveamanakick – Borrowed Time

Niamh: “Well I just love this band - the two piece powerhouse are back in the news again. Due to a reunion tour…for the ten year anniversary tour of ‘We are the way forward.”

Paddy Hanna – Austria

Niamh: “Well this is just a wonderful new track from Dublin’s Paddy Hanna…a bit of like a mythical human being – always very quiet on the social media front and then he just emerges with like these gorgeous tracks…I think he’s definitely up there with the likes of Conor from Villagers, when it comes to delivering feel.”

The Couth – 45 Seconds

Stuart: “From Lisburn – David McCrum is the man who leads that…and they play it, like they live it…Good to hear them come back with something a wee bit true to the throbbing spirit of rock and roll.”

Shardborne – Living Bridges

Niamh: “I was at their Cork launch…they’ve just released their debut album ‘Living Bridges’ via ‘Out on a limb’ Records...Shardborne are so proficient at what they do – live it’s almost sickening particularly the bassist and drummer – it’s like how are they playing those timings?... I highly recommend you check them out live.”

Hags – On Return

Niamh: “So dark shoe gaze from Cork - this is their latest single ‘On Return’ produced by Chris Somers of Elastic Sleep and I think you can definitely hear the Elastic Sleep influence on this record.”

Le Boom – Your Friends All Said That They Were Going Home

Rigsy: “Billed as a demo, but I think they were being a little kind of modest there, recorded… in a warehouse in Brooklyn and they’re signed to a New York label….and playing Electric Picnic next month…very, very promising.”

Young Phantom – Pink Ocean

Niamh: “Mark Mavambu – he’s the local artist and this is his first solo project…It’s a mix…It’s about ten minutes long…He describes it in its entirety as an EP… The sky is the limit for this guy – he’s really young, he’s only 19 and he just has so much potential…Driving things in a different direction from a lot of bands you see now in Ireland.”

Eq1nx – Hidden Truth

Rigsy: “Very much enjoying this track ‘Hidden truth’ very very catchy indeed – They’re Colin, Gavin, Chris and Ronnie from Belfast…this is straight up indie rock and roll.”
