Floating Ballroom - WISH
Wednesday 16th March 2016
They Say: “'WISH' was inspired by a series of artworks by Irish artist Josephine Geaney. The artworks were dark, haunting and beautiful. They represented the music I wanted to write but through a different medium. Writing 'WISH' was a very long process. A lot of time was spent carefully crafting the sounds within the track itself. I would constantly fixate on changing tiny little details within the track until eventually I had to abandon it just so It could be released.
I think 'WISH' is about the feeling of isolation that resides within a person and the hope of overcoming this state of mind. However much like my interpretation of the artworks that inspired 'WISH', it's left up to the listener to interpret the track for themselves. I really like that idea.”
We Say: “There’s an onslaught of delicacy across the island at the moment, with numerous acts of note taking the ‘less is more’ approach to production, creating sweetness from light. Producer Floating Ballroom stands out with ‘Wish’ which perfectly captures the essence of its creators excellent moniker.”
Floating Ballroom is Tipperary producer Joe Geaney. ‘WISH’ is the first track to be taken from his debut E.P which will be released later this year.
