Hannah McPhillimy - Running

25th April 2016

They Say: “This song was inspired by watching a dear friend walk a very hard-earned path through the recovery process. It starts a little bit like a church hymn - very sparse - but gets pulled in a different direction, with a wee pulsing bass undercurrent and the odd trumpet interjection here and there. I hope that it is true to her experience, and that it feels hopeful, without being saccharine.”

We Say: “More understated than ever before, Hannah McPhillimy is welcomed back to basics with what starts out as a simple, spellbinding piano and vocal performance. It’s a real treat to hear her voice exposed so beautifully... before the track bursts into life.”

Hannah’s new E.P Wind Machine is launched on 6th May 2016 with a show in 101 Donegall Street, Belfast. Hannah is in session with Gerry Kelly on BBC Radio Ulster on Saturday 30th April.
