Sullivan & Gold - Guatemala
Thursday 30th March, 2017
They say: “The track tells the tale of a long distance relationship between a young couple. A newly qualified primary school teacher teaching in the north coast of Northern Ireland and a young Northern Irish woman living in one of the world's most picturesque yet politically savaged countries.
While he looks at times tables and proper nouns, she lies at night in an open top compound - surrounded by volcanoes, avocados and noisy 'tuk tuks'".
We say: “Their eventual return has made us wonder how we managed without Sullivan & Gold.
That vocal is gentle and reassuring, the subtle strings perfect for a quiet afternoon in the sun. Summer’s coming."
Sullivan & Gold is the songwriting project of Benjamin Robinson. Released tomorrow on Friday 31st March, Guatemala is the first release from a new album due late 2017.
We can expect a physical release in mid-April - featuring a 7" lathe cut, homemade Guatemalan soap and some of Robinson's original 35mm camera snaps on heavy duty postcards.
