Girls Names - Reticence
They Say: "The opening and ending was a riff I had knocking about for a few years, and just didn't know where to go with it. We wrote the rest really quickly while jamming in a cottage we spent a week at in Donegal. I wrote the lyrics a month or two later when I got back. The first exclamation,“Uptight”, came from seeing it staring at me on the cover of a book and then it easily wrote itself, which is extremely rare for me. It's so long ago now it could be about anything, but I think it's got something to do with the idea of losing yourself to love and fighting the insecurities and fears that come with it. There are two people involved." Cathal Cully
We Say: “Impressive art-rumble with nods to various generations of New York's uber noiseniks. The last moments squall defiantly like Sonic Youth, but there's also a contrary swing that recalls The Fall. Compared to their previous release ‘Zero Triptych’, this is a miniature, but certainly shows a deal of steel and purpose as they approach their third album, 'Arms Around A Vision'. “
