What an astonishing history it’s been for Dublin act The Frames. Twenty five years, six albums, many band members and of course the ever-dynamic personality of Glen Hansard who would never ever compromise or quit. He could have settled on a middling career, reviving his film role as Outspan Foster in The Commitments but instead he has taken the long and lonely road to credible acclaim.
In the late Eighties, he was busking Waterboys songs on Grafton Street, an existence that later took form in the film Once and that stupendous Oscar win. We remember the rousing challenge with the help of actress Bronagh Gallagher, Frames member Colm Mac Con Iomaire plus fans, business supporters and former ATL presenter Donna Legge.
