Emer Maguire - Belfast

Wednesday 16th November, 2016

They say:
Belfast is a celebration of falling helplessly in love with a city and the people in it.

My songs usually don't fit within one genre and Belfast is certainly no exception. Through its production I kept my quirky folk roots with the acoustic guitar and honest vocals, while experimenting with my love of the drum and synth sounds that bring alt pop songs to life.

The resulting sound of my debut track Belfast is a mix of genres that come together to form my own unique blend of pop infused indie electro-folk.”

We say: “Saturated with infectious grooves and catchy hooks, Belfast is a warm-hearted love letter to the titular city. Emer Maguire's vocals are imbued with a stripped back sense of sincerity; whimsical, yes, but full of integrity.”

'Belfast' is part of Oh Yeah Music Centre's 'Scratch My Progress Vol. 5' album, available now.

As often as possible Across the Line aims to bring you a great new, recent or interesting track each day, Monday to Friday. To get your new music to Across the Line send it via the BBC Introducing Uploader.
