
The Northern Ireland Music Prize will return on Saturday 15th November. The
event, which will be held in Mandela Hall, aims to honour and celebrate the
best of Northern Irish albums.
Artists who are shortlisted for The Northern Ireland Album of the Year will give live performances on the night, before the winner is decided by a selection of local media and industry professionals. Last year’s Album of the Year award was won by Foy Vance for his ‘Joy of Nothing’ album.
Therapy? who formed in 1989, will be presented with an Oh Yeah Legend Award. The band are also performing their 1994 ‘Troublegum’ album which sold over a million copies and was shortlisted for a Mercury Prize.
The programme is supported by various organisations, including BPI (British Recorded Music Industry), Creative & Cultural Skills, Help Musicians and First Music Contact with input from Queen’s University Belfast and Belfast Metropolitan College.
