At some point, most of us will have found ourselves pressed up to the barrier of a huge arena, wondering how on earth all of this comes together. And when it comes to bringing some of the biggest acts on the planet to the stage, Steve Strange is the person to speak to. Queens of the Stone Age, Eminem, Chance the Rapper, and even our own Snow Patrol are just some of the artists he’s worked with as an agent. All of us lot here at ATL are really excited about Steve receiving the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Music’ award at the NI Music Prize in the Ulster Hall in Belfast, on November 7th.
Steve is pretty special; he has always had a passion for music, and he’s worked hard for his achievements, having laboured on builder’s yards to keep himself ticking over whilst focusing on the bigger picture, co-founding X-Ray Touring. What makes him even more special is his huge support for local music, recently saying in Celebrity Access, “It’s a big responsibility but it’s a pleasure to watch something unfold like that in front of you. I’ve never forgotten watching Ash selling out their first L.A. show with 1,000 people. I remember just standing there being so proud that this was finally happening.”
Not bad for a fella from Carrickfergus, eh?
