Ghost Office – Fat & Depressed
Monday 6th June, 2016
They Say: “With 'Fat & Depressed' we tried to take the path of least resistance, arranging a few prosaic lines over simple guitar parts. The title is taken from a Stewart Lee routine and the lyrics attempt a similar flatness of tone, despite their net-positive theme of overcoming anhedonia. Production was similarly streamlined, seeing the song recorded, mixed and mastered in an hour as part of Start Together Studio's Ready to Rolls Sessions."
We Say: “There’s a casual feel to that opening bass line... effortless, cool and just a little dark. The lyrical subject, scuzzy guitars and - at times - partly obscured vocal all make for an engaging introduction to a band that we're keen to hear more from."
Ghost office are Richard Bailie, Joe Gilson and James Trotter. ‘Fat & Depressed’ is out now.
