Out To Lunch Programme Released, and Green Day Announce Belfast Gig

Pop-punk luminaries Green Day are set to perform in Belfast next year.

Out To Lunch Festival is set to return early in the new year, running from 6th – 29th January, with a variety of music, comedy, spoken word and literary events.

Now in its twelfth year, musical performances of the festival include James Vincent McMorrow, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Fairport Convention, Mark Kermode’s Dodge Brothers, Raphael Doyle, Amiina, Adrian Sherwood & Pinch, Ulaid & Duke Special, Ruts DC, Norman Jay, Kavus Torabi, Steve Davis.

Also performing are Turin Brakes, Mulligan Brothers, Aja Arkestra, Alana & Jarlath Henderson and Barb Jungr, as well as The Daintees, with Billy Bragg & Joe Henry closing the festival.

In other festival news, Bulmers Forbidden Fruit Festival also returns in 2017, on the June Bank Holiday weekend – Saturday 3rd – Monday 5th. It takes place on the grounds of the Irish Museum Of Modern Art at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin. Expect music, art, fashion and food, with the lineup to be announced in coming weeks.

Finally, this week saw the announcement that punk-rock legends Green Day are set to perform an open-air concert in Belfast’s Ormeau Park next summer, on June 28th 2017.

With California luminaries Rancid in support, the gig follows the release of Green Day’s twelfth studio album, ‘Revolution Radio’, earlier this year.
