Walking On Cars announced today that they are parting ways after 10 years together.

Over the past decade, they have become one of the biggest bands in Irish music. They released their debut single ‘Catch Me If You Can’ in 2012, but the world was introduced to them in 2015 thanks to the simple but effective ‘Hey ya, hey ya, hey ya, hey ya’ chorus line in ‘Speeding Cars’. Yes you will now be singing that for days…you’re welcome.

With the release of their debut album ‘Everything This Way’ in 2016, they spent three weeks at Number 1 on the Official Irish Albums Chart and went on to sell an impressive 325,000 copies globally. The band also toured and sold more than 100,000 tickets over an 18 month period. Their second and final album ‘Colours’ peaked at Number 2 in 2019.

The Co. Kerry quartet regularly performed on the main stages of some of the biggest festivals both at home and internationally, including the Isle of Wight festival and Electric Picnic - further reinforcing their position as one of Ireland’s most successful bands ever!

Earlier this year, they found a new legion of fans when their track ‘Monster’ was used as the opening track on Netflix hit ‘The Stranger’.

As a final farewell and thank you to fans, the Irish four-piece have released an EP called ‘Clouds’ featuring the lead single ‘All The Drinks’ which is available to listen to across all streaming platforms now.

All the team at ATL Introducing send our best wishes to the band, and their fans. Pa, Paul, Sorcha and Evan, thank you!
