Gig of the Week: Benefit

Across The Line

Two things of note, both of which say a lot about And So I Watch You From Afar. First of all, they're using their long overdue homecoming show, what one could refer to as a 'banker', to raise money not for themselves, but for charity. Given how hard this band struggle to make ends meet (despite their increasing popularity), to say this is to their credit is more than an understatement. Secondly, the line up (which you can drool over here) says everything you need to know about what the rest of the Northern Irish music scene makes of them. In short, our finest queued up to play this show.

The show being Benefit, an ATL-playlist-come-to-life type affair taking place this Saturday night in Belfast.

From ASIYFA, here's Rory Friars.

"This is a show we decided to put on to remember our friend Bart Lyons who died of cancer this year.Thats who'll be in our minds on Saturday night, but every single person there will have their own Bart Lyons, their own person they'll be thinking of and it's for all those people this is raising money for. And what better way to raise a bit of cash and remember old friends than with 6 hours of face melting music. It's also a chance for everyone to pull together and to forget about what's going on in the city at the moment. In short - what a way to bring in a new xmas."

Benefit is this Saturday at QUBSU (Queens University Student's Union). Joining And So I Watch You From Afar will be EatenByBears, Axis Of, Ed Zealous and many many more.
