Belfast based label Quiet Arch is to cease trading. For 5 years now it has been a beam and block in the Northern Irish music industry, casting a foundation for artists such as Joshua Burnside, Pat Dam Smith, Ciaran Lavery, Malojian and of course the recent Ryan Vail and Elma Orkestra album ‘Borders’. They will stay true to the blueprint and follow through with plans penciled for 2020, however after that the label will be on hold for the ‘foreseeable future’.

There’s a chance to say goodbye in January at the Belfast Empire in what’s sure to be a night of celebration and sadness. However while we realise the quiet sense of something lost, we must remember that all experience is an arch to build upon.

“Alas it’s time for that Triumphal arch that fill’st the sky to fall” – Thomas Campbell

Elma Orkestra & Ryan Vail, Joshua Burnside, Ciaran Lavery plus guests will play the Empire Music hall on Friday 10th January 2020.
