One thing you’ll have seen a lot of during lockdown is artists performing from home via social media. It’s something we’ve become used to as the new normal, but what does it mean for the venues with empty, silent stages getting dusty behind closed doors? Well, now these home performances could offer up an opportunity to give something back to the venues.

The Music Venue Trust has kicked off the #saveourvenues campaign, which offers artists the chance do their bit and raise some cash for local venues. A UK wide campaign, artists pick the venue of their choice and then are offered “tools and guidance” on how to do a home gig to raise cash for that venue. At the time of writing there are currently only 3 venues to choose from in NI, all of which are in Belfast, but this may increase.
