Martha Ffion - Wallflower

They Say: “From the moment I first started writing the song the drum beat was particularly prominent in my head. I wanted it to have a slack, summery feel. Gavin Redford, who played drums on the track, totally got it. The ascending bass line was the last part I came up with for the song.
It’s a song about being introverted: how that feels for the person but also how frustrating and hurtful it can be for those close to you. I think I understand both sides as my personality sits somewhere in between.
It’s also about having feelings of self-doubt and fear and hopefully finding strength and encouragement from somewhere (or someone!).”
We Say: 'Based in Glasgow but originally from Warrenpoint, Martha has delivered a beautiful slice of guitar pop with “hints of Camera Obscura…and little bits of 60’s Brill Building pop".'
‘Wallflower’ and the accompanying video was released in late January, on Turnstile Music. Martha heads off on a short tour of England in May, visiting The Basement, York on 25th; The Islington, London on 26th; Surf Café, Newcastle on 27th and also plays Kintyre Songwriters Festival on 28th & 29th.
