After 18 years presenting Across the Line, Rigsy is stepping aside. Real name David O’Reilly, the broadcaster took over hosting duties from a team which included the show’s founder Mike Edgar. During his time at the helm of ATL, as well as hosting the weekly radio show, Rigsy fronted many successful series of ATL TV and helped to make the show a hugely positive force in local music.
Rigsy will continue to work with the BBC on various projects, which include producing an exciting new alternative music programme on the station hosted by Stephen McCauley. His final Across the Line show is on 14th October, but we hope to hear him back on the show from time to time. Best of luck Rigsy, you were the voice of ATL for a generation.
Step up to the microphone Gemma Bradley. Gemma will be known to the Across the Line audience as a singer and songwriter. Her charm, warmth and passion for the local scene made her the perfect choice as the presenter of the programme. Gemma says
“I’m so excited to begin my journey on Across the Line. I feel so honoured to be able to continue its legacy and showcase the best new music this island has to offer. I’m also a Musician, Music Tutor and BIMM Music Graduate, so it’s really important and exciting for me to be able to celebrate the music scene here, while helping to spread the word of those paving the way for the next generation, ”.
Gemma Bradley’s first show as presenter of ATL will be on October 21st at half past nine on BBC Radio Ulster.
