Gig of the Week: Foyle Folk Festival
Remember last week when we said festival season was over? Well....almost. Derry has one more to offer, albeit without your mud, dodgy burgers or a portaloo in sight. Five years this festival has been flourishing up in the Maiden city with this year's line up arguably the most impressive and varied they've ever had. Wally, percussionist with Cashier #9 (and general man about town up in the north west) presents this in a nutshell:
"We are delighted to have a musician of Andy Irvine's calibre on board, accompanied by a really strong Northern Irish line up including Cashier and Robyn G Shiels. The intimacy and atmosphere of this festival make it a fan and band favorite! It's looking likely that this years fest could be the best yet!"
Add to the acts Wally mentioned the likes of Our Krypton Son, Farriers and The Ard Ri Band (plus many more) and you have yourself a very pleasant day of music, indeed!

The Foyle Folk Festival takes place at the Cafe Soul Courtyard off Shipquay Place this Saturday September 15th.
