Gig of the Week: Japanese Popstars
Is our gig of the week the mighty Japanese Popstars (and guests) at The Nerve Centre? Or is it the entire Culturetech festival taking place across Derry city this week? One of life's great mysteries, for sure!
Here's Gary Curran, one half of electro duo The Japanese Popstars to talk about both his band's gig and the festival:
'The Culture Tech Festival is something that we have been looking forward to playing for a while and it'll be great to return to our old haunt The Nerve Centre. The line up for the event looks fantastic and as always myself and Gareth will be up for checking out the local emerging talent - Psycatron, Fractious, Steve Mc Cready, Caolin Harkin & Screendeath.... and not to forget the legend that is Paul Woolford - he of course is not local but I think he shares the same humour so thats good enough!
'The other events - talks and workshops - personally I'd love to check them out if I get the time. Facebook seems to buzzing about the digital workshops - it's great to see! I wish the organisers every success and hopefully this is the start of something that can build and become a permanent fixture in bringing creativity in the wide range of digital fields in to the city."
Beautifully put!
