MTV have announced that the Red Hot Chilli Peppers will perform at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast on Sunday 6th November.

The legendary funk rockers are one of the most successful acts in rock history, having sold more than sixty million albums and winning six GRAMMY® Awards, including "Best Rock Album" for Stadium Arcadium.

“We haven’t played in Belfast in a long time, so we’re really looking forward to performing at the ‘2011 MTV EMA’ and seeing all our fans!” the band said.

MTV have also announced that EMA’s will be presented from three locations across Belfast with the Odyssey Arena serving as the main stage.
