Armagh punk outift Gascan Ruckus have just headed off on a nine date UK tour. The lads have kindly agreed to keep us posted with all that happens. Here is guitarist Decky's first tour diary entry...

Our tour got off to a rocky start, we had all been out at the LaFaro album launch the night before we left, we partied a little too hard and we slept in and missed the ferry. Nightmare start, but we managed to bluff our way on to another boat. It actually turned out to be faster and took us closer to Glasgow, which is where our first show was.

We rolled in to Glasgow feeling a little fragile but also excited for the first show. After soundcheck we met up with some friends from back home and hunted down the nearest place that would fill us with something deep fried.

We sold enough t-shirts and CDs to get diesel to take us to Edinburgh which is always a good sign. Edinburgh is one of our favourite cities in the UK. The venue we play in is called Bannermans, it has to be one of the best venues in the universe for our purposes. They fed us, watered us and even let us sleep in the flat above the venue which is a welcome change from the van.

The gig was brilliant and we sold more merchandise than we ever have before at a show. Afterwards we got some good news - More Than Conquerors had helped us fill one of our empty days with a show in Castleford.

Conor's brother lives in Edinburgh along with some good friend of ours, so although we were crying out for a good nights sleep and a decent shower we decided it would be rude not to go out. We ended up in a club with a pole dancing room in it, needless to say we had a go and threw some serious shapes.

We hit the road early the next day, we had a five hour drive ahead of us so it was laptops out and reading material at the ready. When we got to the venue we could scarcely believe our eyes, we were playing in a massive shopping centre, which also had the biggest indoor ski slope in England, strange but good. More Than Conquerors were excellent and they even induced a mosh pit which I nearly lost a tooth in, worth it. It was good to see another band from back home and they were easily the best band we've played with so far. This time we did have an early night, god knows we badly needed it.
