Electric PIcnic

The Electric Picnicstage breakdown is out, and anbody lucky enough to be heading to the festival this weekend will no doubt be formulating their master plan about now. But like any festival, there will be clashes, there will be missed sets and there will be hunger that trumps that one band you'd kinda like to catch. But today we're talking the one band you WILL NOT MISS during the weekend, or if you're not one of lucky bunch going, who are you most annoyed about missing and would recommend? Simple yeah?

Hit us up on Facebook /Twitter or you can text 81771 after 8pm tonight. Here's team ATL's picks...

Pulp

Pulp

Sunday 4th Sept - 10:30pm on the Main Stage

Rigsy - ATL presenter

Pulp Been waiting a fair while for this inevitable reunion and hoping, of all festivals, Pulp would end up at EP. I've managed to miss all coverage of their festival shows so far this summer so what happens this Sunday will be a bit of a surprise. They'll no doubt go easy on the later stuff that I love, but those daft pop gems will make for a perfect festival climax.

Santigold

Friday 2nd Sept - 9pm on the Electric Arena

Paul McClean - ATL Producer

Santigold

The name has changed (well one vowel, due to a potential lawsuit) but hopefully the song will remain the same. New York/Philadelphia fashionista Santigold blew EP apart in 2009 and it will be intersting to see whether her new material can equal or even top it. She is now signed to Jay Z's label which bodes well. Santigold had the looks, hooks and attitude of MIA without the petulant nonsense, and her dancers and backing band gave phenomenal entertainment. It clashes with PJ Harvey, which is a dose, but could be very much worth the pain.

Everything Everything

Sunday the 4th Sept - 3:30pm in the Electric Arena

Amy McGarrigle (ATL Content Assistant)

The Ivor Novello and Mercury Prize nominated Everything Everything might sound like one of those bands critics adore but are too serious to love. Instead the Manchester band's debut album, 'Man Alive' was one of the the most fun albums of last year, making me air drum, mumble undefinied lyrics in quick succession and attempt crazy high pitch falsetto harmonies. Musically it merges indie rock, pop, r n'b and even prog, making for a very interesting and unpredicatble album and hopefully a smashing live show. I'm pretty sure they haven't played an Irish gig since the release of their album, much to my frustration, so their performance at Electric Picnic is a must. It might not work live, it may be one of the best things I've ever seen - either way, I'm there!
