Main Stage 4:30pm, Saturday

Tweet: Good God Pat Dam and other such phrases

What happened?: Perhaps a little later than scheduled, seemingly having swapped with Robyn G Shiels in the running order, a rag-tag man, and his rag-tag band took the stage, and the music was anything but. From ‘Slip John’ onwards, it’s rollicking good fun – folksy, bouncy, with a hoedown feel in places. It recalls Bowie, The Beatles and The Kinks, seemingly simple and classic, that it feels strange that we’ve not heard these songs before.‘Rags to Riches’ has to have been stolen from some Abbey Road archive, with a ragtime good-time vibe. You can almost see the bar-room dancing as the beer gets spilled by revellers. All from a man with a most impressive beard.

Shining Light:That we’ve got them here was one bright spot. That then they produced such good time music is even better.

Meltdown: Beard jealousy.I want a beard like that.Now.
