Its Never Too Early To Get Excited.

With the Coachella line up blowing everyone's mind earlier this week (still a rubbish festival mind, trust me) I've made an important call - it's now officially okay to get excited about festival season 2011. Yes, I'm in charge of such matters.

Once again (RATM and Blur stole the show at Oxegen in 2008 and 2009 ya see), it's the thought of a few cheeky reunions getting us lot in a bit of a lather.

Britpop! You've so much to answer for. I'm rooting for Pulp to be added to the bill for Oxegen or maybe even Belsonic. Most think 'Common People' and 'Disco 2000', but I'd go for 'This is Hardcare' and 'We Love Life', their last two albums, when Jarvis and co' matured beautifully.

On a similar tip, Suede are back in business and on the bill for Coachella, so there's a chance they could also be doing the rounds. Will people care? I'm not entirely sure. I was never an obsessive fan and unlike most (I think) I'd pick 'She's in Fashion' as their finest moment.

More exciting is the news that Death From Above 1979 are back with a show in the Californian desert. MSTRKRFT (the new act Jesse from DFA1979 formed) didn't set the world alight, so it's a welcomed return. Check out this, it utterly slays.

Best of all (and honestly, I mean that) is the very outside chance (Electric Picnic maybe?) that Lauryn Hill will perform on this island this summer. She's been doing shows again for a while, but her inclusion on the Coachella bill suggest's she's up for the dirt and grime of the festival circuit. Given 'The Miseducation...' is yet to be bettered in terms of Rn'B records, a wee stint here would be an absolute treat.

Total speculation this and miles away anyway, but it's nice to have something to look forward to, eh?
