Artist:Styrofoam

Title: Get Smarter (Juan MacLean remix)

Label: Nettwerk

Why We Need This Record: Due out at the end of May this is another cracking remix from the ex Beta Band man, and part of a package that includes a vastly inferior remix from myself under my Miracle Boy guise, but let's face it we're a bit bit inferior in the presence of Juan MacLean!

Artist:Kyte

Title: Dead Waves

Label: EMI

Why We Need This Record: Downtempo loveliness from one of the best new bands in the UK. This is the title track from their debut album which crosses many a genre from disco to house to ambient to shoegaze without sounding like a different band. Best debut this year so far.

Artist: LFO

Title: Psycodelik

Label: Warp

Why We Need This Record: From the criminally underrated second album, Advance, which for me is the only truely great LFO album, from an era that produced Orbital's Brown and Aphex's Ambient Works this should be revisited by anyone with a love of electronic music.
