The BAFTA nominations (not to be confused with the BAFTA television craft nominations) have been announced and once again we have an excuse to bring cake into the office. Peter Kosminsky’s lauded drama Wolf Hall has been nominated for Best Drama, with leads Mark Rylance and Claire Foy (pictured) getting nods in the Best Actor and Actress categories respectively, and Anton Lesser being nominated for Supporting Actor.
Other BBC dramas to fare well include London Spy - which is nominated for Best Mini Series and Leading Actor (Ben Whishaw); and Doctor Foster earns Suranne Jones a nomination for Best Actress and also a position in the Best Miniseries category.

Peter Kay's Car Share
Peter Kay’s Car Share that started life on iPlayer has sped off with three top nominations for Best Scripted Comedy and Best Male and Female Performance in a Comedy Programme for Peter Kay and Sian Gibson.
Adele at the BBC and Strictly are in the running for Best Entertainment programme, while Graham Norton, Romesh Ranganathan and Stephen Fry all get nods in the Entertainment Performance category.
EastEnders and Holby City are nominated for Best Soap and Continuing Drama; and Documentaries in the running include the iPlayer’s Adam Curtis epic Bitter Lake, Life After Suicide and Louis Theroux: Transgender Kids.

Children of the Gaza War
In the Current Affairs category Children of the Gaza War (pictured) and Outbreak: The Truth about Ebola are nominated, while BBC News at Six: Paris Attacks Special is recognised in the News Coverage section.
MOTD Live: FA Cup Final and Six Nations Final Day are in the running for Best Sport programme, while Big Blue Live and Stargazing Live: Brit in Space, Tim Peake Special get nods in the Live Event category.
