Applications open for BBC's Content Commissioner development programme

The BBC is inviting talented TV professionals with a disability, and those from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, to apply for its Content Commissioner Development Programme.

Restart and rewind live radio with major update to BBC Sounds app

A major app update means listeners can now restart any live programme and listen to it from the beginning, or rewind to any point in the live programme and pick it up from there. They can also pause a live stream and later resume from where they left off or jump back to live.

Calling all Summer Socialites! Following an inaugural event last summer, BBC Summer Social returns for 2019 offering an even bigger and better line-up and now encompassing even more of the BBC’s best programmes for the whole family.

The Victim is a thriller told through the eyes of the plaintiff and the accused. Set within Scotland’s unique legal system, the drama asks the question: who really, is the victim?

BBC One commissions new drama LIFE by Mike Bartlett. LIFE brings together four separate, deeply human and surprising strands to tell a larger story about what happens when we decide to step out of our own personal space and take a closer look into other people’s lives.

Factual

In this new outing of the factual series, which traces the social and political history of Britain through the inhabitants of a single home, David Olusoga uncovers stories of the varied residents of a terraced house in Newcastle’s West End.

BBC Two has commissioned a new series in which people living with obesity come together to talk about their experiences and explore what it means to be obese in Britain today.

Arts

BBC Young Dancer 2019 unveils the 20 talented young dancers who have made it through to the Category Finals of the prestigious competition.

Wales

BBC Wales’ new landmark natural history series Wales: Land Of The Wild showcases Wales’ spectacular wildlife as you’ve never seen it before. It’s an intimate look into animals’ relationships with each other, the challenges they face and the fight for survival.

Corporate

The BBC is committed to resolving the historic tax issues in cases where presenters who have been engaged through personal service companies (PSCs) now find their tax employment status being questioned by HMRC.

BBC Studios has retained the contract to produce Later... with Jools Holland and Jools’ Annual Hootenanny after a competitive tender process. The BBC Two shows will continue to be produced by BBC Studios for another two years.

BBC sets out bold ambitions as part of its Annual Plan for 2019/20.
