BBC Radio 4 Reith Lectures 2017: Hilary Mantel

Today (Friday 16 March 2018) the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards 2018 were announced at a ceremony at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London. BBC programmes and people took home prizes in 10 categories.

BBC One's Three Girls was named Best Single Drama, with the network's Line of Duty taking home Best Drama Series and creator Jed Mercurio awarded Best Writer. 

BBC Radio programmes also fared well: Radio Broadcaster of the Year went to BBC Radio 5 Live's Emma Barnett, with Radio Programme of the Year going to BBC Radio 4's Reith Lectures 2017: Hilary Mantel.

Chris Packham: Asperger’s and Me

Meanwhile BBC factual programmes that took home awards were Chris Packham: Asperger’s and Me on BBC Two which was Best Single Documentary, while BBC One's Blue Planet II was Best Documentary Series. 

The Harvey Lee Award was awarded to children’s television producers, Biddy Baxter and Edward Barnes in special recognition of their work on the long-running BBC children's programme Blue Peter.
