BBC at the Children’s BAFTAs 2014

Last night (Sunday 23 November) the British Academy of Film and Television Children's Awards were held at a ceremony at the Roundhouse in London, where Katie Morag star Cherry Campbell (pictured) became the youngest ever BAFTA winner. The nine year old was awarded in the Best Performer category and the CBeebies show was selected as Best Drama.
Children’s television veteran, Clangers and Bagpuss creator, Peter Firmin took home the special award, and writer Debbie Moon was awarded for CBBC drama Wolfblood.
BBC programmes took home prizes in 13 of the 25 categories, they’re all listed below:
- Children’s animation - Shaun The Sheep, Richard Starzak, Jay Grace, John Woolley
- Children’s interactive, original in 2014 – Dixi, Dan Berlinka, Nina Metivier, Melanie Stokes
- Children’s learning, Primary in 2014 - Lizard Girl, Iona Sweeney, Lynsey Miller, Vivienne Franzmann
- Children’s learning, Secondary in 2014 - Poetry: Between The Lines, Production Team
- Children’s performer 2014 - Cherry Campbell, Katie Morag
- Children’s comedy in 2014 - Diddy Movies 2, Steve Ryde, Dez McCarthy, Annette Williams
- Pre-school animation 2014 - Sarah & Duck, Tim O'Sullivan, Sarah Gomes Harris, Jamie Badminton
- Children’s drama in 2014 - Katie Morag, Production Team
- Children’s pre-school live action in 2014 - Old Jack’s Boat, Dominic MacDonald, Tony Reed, Tom Poole
