A quick round up of what's new this week on BBC iPlayer, programmes that are about to become unavailable, plus some hidden gems you might have missed.

Normal People

The highly anticipated adaptation of Sally Rooney’s international literary phenomenon arrives as a full series exclusively on BBC iPlayer. A compulsive modern love story, Normal People follows Marianne and Connell as the pair weave in and out of each other’s lives and explores just how complicated intimacy and young love can be. Full series box set available from Sunday 26 April.

Stacey Dooley: Costa Del Narcos

Stacey Dooley investigates how southern Spain - famous for its beaches and sunshine - has become the main gateway for drugs into Europe. Available from Sunday 26 April.

The Real Marigold Hotel

Series 4 follows former movie star and Bond girl Britt Ekland, Dragon’s Den star and entrepreneur Duncan Bannatyne, fashion designer Dame Zandra Rhodes; Chuckle brother Paul Chuckle, cricket commentator Henry Blofeld, EastEnders actor John Altman, actress Susie Blake, and singer Barbara Dickson, as they road test retirement in India. New series begins Thursday 30 April.

Museums In Quarantine

A new series exploring national collections – whether virtually or with new footage – at a time of enforced closure. The series begins with Alastair Sooke, who in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic was able to gain privileged access to the Tate Modern for a last look at the Warhol exhibition. New series begins Tuesday 28 April.

The Elephant Man

Film. Drama about John Merrick, a severely deformed man living in late 19th century London. Directed by David Lynch and starring John Hurt, Anthony Hopkins, John Gielgud and Anne Bancroft, this remarkable film explores the essence of what it means to be human. Available from Sunday 26 April.

Snowfall

Hard-hitting drama about the beginnings of the crack epidemic in 1980s Los Angeles, following Franklin, a young street entrepreneur chasing success by any means necessary.

The Thick Of It

Dark political comedy set in the corridors of British government, created by Armando Iannucci and starring Peter Capaldi.

OJ: Made In America

Five-part feature length Storyville documentary series and winner of an Academy Award for Best Documentary, chronicling the rise and fall of OJ Simpson.

The Demon Headmaster

Children’s show in which kids discover their headmaster is using hypnotism to gain control of their school.

Source Code

A military pilot wakes up in someone else's body, apparently part of a secret time- travel mission to find a terrorist bomber before he can strike again. Sci-fi drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

Ghost Stories

Horror film. Professor Philip Goodman, famous for debunking hoaxes and ghost sightings, is given a dossier of three terrifying, unsolvable cases by his hero. Written and directed by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman, and starring Martin Freeman, Paul Whitehouse and Alex Lawther.

Spooks: The Greater Good

Action thriller film starring Kit Harrington, based on the BBC drama series. A disgraced intelligence chief teams up with a former agent when a terrorist escapes from custody. 

Paddington 2

Family film. Paddington finds the perfect gift for Aunt Lucy's birthday, but when the gift is stolen he becomes the prime suspect, and it is up to the Browns to prove his innocence.

The Real Michael Jackson

Jacques Peretti goes back to Jackson’s beginnings, charting his rise and fall and seeking a fuller picture of this complex, contradictory character by exploring the clues that were missed. Available until Wednesday 29 April.

Witness

Thriller starring Harrison Ford. An Amish boy needs police protection after he witnesses a murder, leading a hardened Philadelphia cop into the reclusive Amish community. Available until Monday 27 April.

George Best: All By Himself

Feature-length documentary about the remarkable life of the footballer George Best, telling the story of the reserved young prodigy from Northern Ireland who became a global superstar. Available until Friday 1 May

The Lost City Of Z

Film drama starring Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson, Sienna Miller and Tom Holland. The true story of Colonel Percy Fawcett, who led several expeditions in the Amazon rainforest to discover what he called the Lost City of Z. Available until Monday 27 April.
