Rick Stein: From Venice to Istanbul

Rick Stein continues his gastronomic road trip from Venice to Istanbul and enjoys ‘John Dory Carlina’ – a dish linked to the island of Torcello deep in the heart of the Venetian lagoon. And on Friday evening’s episode Stein tries his hand at foraging for shellfish on the island of Korcula - famous for its Greek wines.

1Xtra Prom

Following 2013’s Urban Classic Prom, BBC Radio 1Xtra joins the BBC Proms in a high-octane late night celebration of the thriving urban music scene, from hip hop to grime. Rappers Wretch 32, Stormzy and Krept & Konan join presenters MistaJam and Sian Anderson on stage, to set the Royal Albert Hall dancing in new remixes blending classical and urban styles, with a little help from Jules Buckley and his Metropole Orkest.

Sounds of the 80s with Paul Young

Sara Cox plays a collection of classic 80s videos and will be chatting to Paul Young about his 1983 album No Parlez. The show features a hit single from the album (clue for which one: Paul comes up against an unexpected twist at the end of the film!) plus Paul chooses a favourite of his own from the decade.

Also enjoy videos from artists like The Weather Girls, Holly Johnson, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Tears for Fears, Belinda Carlisle and Eurythmics. Plus find out what the top five songs were this week in 1982.

This Saturday and Sunday tune in to watch live and a replay of the Swimming World Championships final. Footie fans can keep up to date with all the latest with Final Score on Saturday. From Monday onwards BBC Sport brings you highlights from the Women’s Cycling World Cup and on Friday we head to Bulgaria for live coverage of the Men’s European Boxing Championships.
