 XXXXX

Earlier this month, Sam Lewens, Dragons' Den executive producer, blogged here about the an outreach project called Dragons' Den Goes Back to School. The project is a collaboration between the producers and BBC North. Four schools from the North of England - from Bolton, Bradford, Lincoln and Sunderland - were set a challenge by the dragons and came into the den to present their responses. Two of the schools were presented with awards - for best idea and best pitch. The programme won't be shown on the TV so here's your chance to get a sense of the excitement for the children who joined in.

The school's team entered the Dragons' Den with a pitch for a free student magazine called 'Brain Freeze' which shares revision tips and exam advice for secondary school pupils.

I just happened to come accross this blog after watching an episode of Dragons Den on BBC Iplayer. I thought this schools project was a brilliant idea, and one that would benefit many children throughout the country. Its not all about money its also about ingenuity, application and teamwork. If they havent done so already, I do hope the Dragons make time to do the same thing down here in Bristol, Devon, Somerset and Cornwall.

PS: it also ticks the corporate social responsibility box for the BBC!

I am a "mature" now ex - public sector worker looking for work - I'll help!
