We’re sure Lionel Messi gets asked for his photo by fans every day. We can imagine even some players who play against him wouldn’t mind a picture with one of the world’s best.

But the match officials? This linesman certainly didn’t hold back. Not even at half-time.

We were all so ready for England’s World Cup qualifier against Poland last night. That was until the referee decided he couldn’t bounce the ball enough times on one big puddle (the pitch).

To stand in front of your fans and sing your national anthem is a proud moment for any football international. Ecuador had an awkward moment at Venezuela when they had to stand through Mexico’s national anthem.
