With all the furore over John Terry's punishment metered out by the clowns at the FA, why hasn't the Premier League or the Football Management taken the same line regarding Mr Redknapp's ongoing court case???? Talk about dual standards, talk about an innocent man until proven otherwise! An argument could be made that if a person is charged with a crime, he should not be able continue with his work (e.g. a policeman charged with assault) until the charge is heard and if so, JT would not be allowed to play for club OR country, let alone captain it. I don't think the FA are right in their action as there has been no adverse reaction from anyone refusing to play (for or) against Chelsea because JT is in the team. I'm against any form of open discrimination BUT in the heat of the moment it is easy (and in that split second) to vent your spleen at someone, you can resort to "schoolboy" jibes - picking out a feature like the fatness, shortness, sticky-out ears, haircut, bad breath, etc and deriding the person. To berate a person in anger in an isolated incident I think is understandable. If a person lost his rag at me and called me a short, bald old fart I wouldn't go screaming to the police and cry discrimination on "age-ism", "height-ism" or "nonhirsuit-ism", even if I felt hurt/insulted etc by those terms. I would be upset, possibly get angry but that would be it. We all have things we feel uncomfortable about and could develop into being discrimatory against, nobody can be totally tolerant/perfect but in the current doctrine we are all expected to be TOO pc. I am not advocating a right wing view to "non-whites", "non-heterosexuals", "non-English", etc but we as a society are in danger of being brainless, mindless clones who all have to behave in a controlled way at all times.
