Inside No. 9 (BBC)

Scott says: "Sensational"
"The whole episode was live, and about nine minutes in, there is a technical difficulty.
"About a third of viewers switched off after nine minutes, thinking the problem was real.
"It then turned out that the technical problem was the episode and what happened for the next 20 minutes, was a bit like 'Ghostwatch' - the infamous BBC show where they fooled the entire nation, making them think it was a live, reality show when, in fact, it wasn't.
"It becomes really meta where you see the actors pretending to be the characters backstage, watching BBC Two with the technical difficulties, and seeing themselves on the screen."
Hayley says: "Nothing has happened like this in a long time"
"It was a proper event. It started out with a very 'Inside No. 9' sketch.
"It was so clever, and so weird. It was exciting.
"It was such a risk. I haven't felt like that watching TV since the very end of The Sopranos, when the screen goes black, and I got up and hit my TV to check it wasn't broken.
"Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton have watched every horror film on earth - they are horror aficionados. Imagine being them, and sitting down and trying to write something original - and they've somehow managed to make something new, and genuinely frightening in a very surprising way.
"It was a triumph."

The Enfield Haunting (Now TV)

Hayley says: "It's more quietly creepy than outright scary"
"This was a three-part mini series on Sky Living three years ago. It's now available on Now TV.
"If you did like The Haunting of Hill House and want more haunted houses, then this one is based on true events that happened in 1977 in Enfield. It is the most documented paranormal event in the UK.
"There were some strange happenings in a council house in Enfield. The story is based around two sisters, aged 11 and 13. It's furniture moving around in the night, and marbles coming out of the sky.
"Timothy Spall plays an amateur paranormal researcher. He actually stays in the house.
"If you did love The Haunting of Hill House, but want something slightly less flashy and very 70s then The Enfield Haunting is for you.
"I enjoyed it - it's more quietly creepy than outright scary. It is weird."
Dark Tourist (Netflix)

Scott says: "I like the oddity"
"Dark Tourist is an interesting one because it's not a drama, it's actually a travel show.
"It's an eight-part documentary series by New Zealand journalist, David Farrier.
"It goes into this concept of 'dark tourism' and what that is. It's where people go to places where you wouldn't normally go on holiday. With this series, they go to Fukushima and the area affected by the nuclear incident after the 2011 earthquake. They also go to war zones around the world and abandoned islands in Japan.
"I like the oddity - the Fukushima one is interesting because it's not what I've seen on TV before. It's a large ghost town.
"It does not endorse these sort of pursuits - David is a bit of an outsider. He questions the ethics and wonders if it's right to go to these places and take photos, and go to war zones just to see how hard people are having it.
"It's quite deep - you get unnerved by seeing these places around the world. But you also get that journalist-style asking if it's right they're there in the first place."
Haunted (Netflix)

Hayley says: "If you haven't had enough ghosts..."
"Haunted is a show on Netflix and it's basically some sad Americans sitting in a room talking about how they were haunted as children and how it's affected their lives.
"But, it's got very lame reenactments in the style of 'Unsolved Mysteries' which I was in to.
"They've taken childhood trauma and made it a TV show.
"It's definitely not a Must Watch - but if you haven't had enough ghosts - there are many more available on Netflix."
