Hayley says: "I would say this was a totally OK drama"
"I would say it's interesting to see an ITV drama that’s shot somewhere else other then the usual - this was in South Africa and Rotterdam.
"It was also good to see Charles Dance not dying on a toilet, which was a treat.
"I would say this was a totally OK ITV drama and we need a new ranking between ‘no’ and ‘must watch’ - an OK watch.
"It’s like you see films that aren’t great but you’d love to watch them on an aeroplane. This is the kind of ITV drama you want to watch when you’re hungover or ill and you just want to lie horizontally on a sofa and watch something like this and occasionally shout: “Oh no he didn’t!” - that is what this is, it’s totally fine."

Scott says: "I'm a bit confused by this drama"
"I’m a bit confused by this drama because it’s an interesting premise and it’s written by Harry and Jack Williams. They’re known for doing these big, suspenseful dramas with many twists and turns, sort of taking you on a journey. At the last minute you’re taken in a different direction and that happens in this show probably about three times in the opening.
"It’s set in Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) so you see a lot of elements of disturbing scenes of violence, a lot of instability is depicted on this show, but there’s no context about what’s going on - you don’t really learn about what is actually happening in DR Congo.
"I think a lot of the time you hear about a country through the news. But, if we compare this to Black Earth Rising by Hugo Blick, which was about Rwanda, it went into a bit of information, 'here is the country, here is the premise, here is the context'.
The Widow is on ITV1 at 21:00 from Monday 8 April 2019.
