Fosse/Verdon: What the Must Watch reviewers think

Must Watch reviewers Scott Bryan and Hayley Campbell share their thoughts on Fosse/Verdon.

Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams star as famed choreographer Bob Fosse and the woman often described as his muse, although in reality Gwen Verdon was as much an equal partner in their acclaimed work.

Fosse/Verdon begins on Friday 2 August at 21:00 on BBC Two, with episode two following straight after at 21:50.

Hayley says: "It's really good"

"Fosse is the guy who gave us jazz hands, and Verdon taught Marilyn Monroe how to dance.

"But her career has been shelved for his, yet she’s this secret weapon that he brings out, he hopes and thinks that he can do without her and then doesn’t.

"It’s really good, a must watch from me."

Scott says: “I was a wreck and I loved it"

"I wasn’t into it for the first 20 minutes but the last 40 minutes totally clicked.

"The last scene of the episode I watched – which I won’t reveal here – was one of the most touching scenes I’ve seen on TV all year.

"I was a wreck and I loved it, it’s a must watch for me.

"It just works like a charm.”
