Hayley says: "If you go into it liking Simon Amstell already, you'll like this"

"I thought it was a lot like sitting in a beer garden with Simon Amstell for three hours and you’ve asked him how he’s doing and then he’s monologued and someone’s edited it down to an hour’s show. At the end of it you’re happy that Simon Amstell is happy and he’s feeling better now and he’s gone through all of this stuff, but at no point was I doubled over laughing.

"But it is full of perfectly amusing and pleasant little observations and there are little lines in there that stuck with me.

"I think it’s because stand-up comedy is so subjective, if you go into it liking Simon Amstell already, you’ll like this. But I don’t think it’s the kind of thing that will win you over if you don’t.

"It’s very good, but it’s about Simon Amstell. If you actively don’t like Simon Amstell then this will not win you over, but if this is your first introduction then I think it might be a good one.

"It’s a Must Watch-ish."

Scott says: "It captures the nuances and general awkwardness of life"

"I think the thing that surprises you is how open Simon Amstell is about his life. He talks about having therapy, he quotes a lot about his therapist and he talks a lot about his relationships.

"He always talks incredibly candidly about what it means to be gay and have gay relationships and I know that might not sound that much, but he’s so unapologetic about talking about his sex life and how awkward it’s been in a very blasé way. It’s amazing to me that we’re at the stage where it’s just a general stand-up routine, without it being a focus.

"It’s not a coming out piece, it’s part of the tapestry of his life and he’s just being open about it.

"That is so, unsurprisingly, meaningful to me and it’s great to see that on screen. It’s not a laugh out loud thing, I think Simon has always been very good at catching the nuances of life and just general awkwardness and that is so prevalent here.

"I’m going to say yes, it’s a Must Watch."
