The Politician: What the Must Watch Reviewers think

Scott says: "It’s quirky and funny"

"It’s Ryan Murphy’s new venture on Netflix, It’s about a guy called Peyton, who’s played brilliantly by Ben Platt.

"It’s about him being in high school and he is really trying to become the student body president and also the President of the United States.

"It taps very much into the idea of when you are in school that being the student body president is the most important thing in the world.

"You’d think it would be quite twee but some of the stuff it goes into gets quite deep. It’s quirky and funny, and I am going to say it’s a must watch."

Hayley says: "It felt too much like Glee"

"It does a lot of talking about identity politics and the role of social media.

"It’s very bitchy and camp in that Ryan Murphy way and it definitely leans more towards the Glee end of the Ryan Murphy spectrum as opposed to the Crime Story end.

"I couldn’t figure out what this was - I went into thinking it was a comedy but ultimately there was some very unfunny dramatic moments.

"I didn’t like it as it felt too much like Glee, the trailer makes out it is fast and punchy and the show is not that."
