Scott says: "It was not the show I was necessarily expecting"

"The Missing was always about a missing child.

"The spin-off has come about because Baptiste is such an interesting character. He's the reassuring, friendly face that you'd want around if something happened to you.

"It does feel like a spin-off. In The Missing, he had an operation in the last episode. Most of this first episode is concentrating on that, and how it's knocked his confidence.

"I think it's a shadow of its former self intentionally. But it's interesting if you just join it now.

"Baptiste is the most interesting part of this new show. The overall premise is incredibly dark. With The Missing, things were a lot more pacey and got on with the plot. With this new episode you only really see his relationship with Tom Holland. You do wonder where it's going, and whether you should invest in the characters.

Hayley says: "Baptiste is the most boring thing about it"

"I never watched The Missing. I think you need to have watched The Missing to have love for Baptiste.

"I want the main detective to be so interesting you could watch them read the phone book. He's the most boring thing in it.

"The twists are good and I would watch a second episode. I just don't understand the love for it.

"It could stand on its own as a series, but the main character doesn't carry it.

"I watch loads of detective stuff. All we're getting is a really stilted front.

"I don't really get it."

Baptiste is on BBC One on Sunday 17 February at 21:00.
