The club is now owned by Nick Lunn and Mal Coleman.

Inside the club

"The Canal Club was always a big name on the clubbing circuit, associated with great names, great music and a great atmosphere, but it has lost its kudos in recent years, and we want to bring that back." said Nick.

"When we took the club on it was in a disappointing state of disrepair, which given its grade II listed status, was a terrible shame. We've spent thousands renovating the venue and installing new fixtures and fittings, and a fantastic new sound system, and we are looking forward to taking it into a new era.

"People never seem to get dressed up anymore. They throw on their jeans and don't seem to take their time over the whole going out experience the way they used to.

"Our slogan is: 'now there's something to get dressed up for', and that's what we want. We want a bit of old fashioned glamour to make every night out special."
