Most children are fascinated by the Ancient Egyptians, so an open stage production with puppets which explores the story of how the first mummy was created, is sure to keep them entertained.
'The Magic of the Mummy' explores the myth behind the first 'mummy' Osiris, and tells how his wife's sorcery saves him from death as he floats down the Nile in a beautiful carved wooden box. | | The Magic of the Mummy |
The show is for all children who love a good story and have an interest in the gruesome details of the past!
It's suitable for children aged 5-11.
It's based on the pictures and stories of real Egyptian artefacts and will be particularly popular with children who study the Ancient Egyptians as part of the National Curriculum.
Scottish puppet company, Clydebuilt, have produced this open stage production to challenge children at different levels of understanding and to lead them on a journey of exploration and imagination.
The music for the show was especially composed by Margaret Smith which adds to the atmosphere.
Children can make their own puppets in workshops to accompany the show.
